Located in the Rock River Valley region of northern Illinois, CGH Medical Center is a progressive acute care facility. Since opening in 1913, CGH has earned a strong reputation throughout the region over its 96 years of operation. Regularly conducted surveys consistently reflect high levels of positive public awareness and patient satisfaction. CGH inpatient services include a 45 bed medical unit, a 34 bed surgical unit, a 12 suite birthing center, 6 pediatric beds, and 14 CCU/ICU/Biotelemetry beds. Outpatient services include a new state-of-the-art Cath Lab opened in the summer of 2004, CAP accredited laboratory as well as diagnostic imaging wich includes:ÂÂwhole body CT, nuclear medicine with SPECT scanning, ultrasound, dedicated mammography, and an in-house, high field MRI. Other departments and services include: neurology laboratory, GI laboratory and nutritional support, pain management, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy. CGH also offers an ambulatory surgical center, physical and occupational therapy, prehospital paramedic level EMS, and centralized scheduling with patient teaching. CGH operates a 24-hour trauma ready emergency department. Along with a new clinical laboratory and a Digestive Disease Center. CGH operates its own Day Care Center adjacent to the campus. The hospital maintains co-ownership in the Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center, Dixon, which serves patients living within a 60 mile radius. Other healthcare services include: CGH Home Nursing and Northern Illinois Home Medical Supply which supplies medical equipment. CGH Medical Center benefits from a long history of well-managed growth and currently employs over 850 caring people. The medical staff consists of 114 physicians specializing in 35 areas of medicine.
